Hopespare Ltd., a company whose head office is based in Hemel Hempstead, has acquired and now owns South Eastern Hydraulics (SEH) Ltd.

New Linde factory opens in China

Linde Hydraulics GmbH & Co. KG is continuing its internationally-oriented strategy. In May, the management of Linde Hydraulics and top-level shareholders' representatives opened a new plant in Weifang, a city on the east coast of China with a population of 9 million inhabitants.

FPS expands

FPS Air Compressors Ltd relocated to new, substantially larger premises in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire on 18 May. The company comments that this move will ensure the development of the training and technical support facilities, increased stock holding and the ability to meet the changing demands of the market and distribution network. FPS adds that its investment of over £1 million in this freehold property demonstrates its commitments and intentions.

Micro-Epsilon demonstrates its latest eddy current sensor at Manufacturing & Engineering North East

At the Manufacturing & Engineering North East exhibition (8 to 9 July) at Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle, Micro-Epsilon UK presented its full range of sensor technologies, including non-contact capacitive, confocal and inductive displacement sensors, as well as 2D/3D laser profile sensors, infrared temperature sensors and thermal imagers. The stand featured the eddyNCDT 3001, a new compact high performance eddy current sensor with integrated electronics.

Eriks acquires Action Industrial Group

Lewis-Goetz, part of the Eriks Group of companies, has acquired Action Industrial Group (USA), a South Carolina-based manufacturer and distributor specialising in fasteners, gaskets, hose products and industrial construction tools and supplies. The acquisition will add seven Southeast locations to the Lewis-Goetz footprint, as well as considerable gasket fabrication technologies. Action Industrial Group has 78 employees.

Queen’s Speech outlines apprenticeship commitment
