Guyson celebrates 80th anniversary

Guyson International Ltd, the UK Hansen & Gromelle quick-release coupling distributor, recently celebrated its 80th anniversary. The occasion was celebrated with a charity fund-raising cycle ride followed by an open day at the company’s head office.

Trelleborg embarks on European roadshow

Specialist engineers from Trelleborg Sealing Solutions will be providing free advice during a European tour organised to ‘share best practice’ in sealing technology. The 14-stage ‘Industrial Roadshow Tour 2018’ began in France on 4 June and culminates in Bulgaria on 9 November.
The roadshow will offer existing and potential customers a chance to learn more about the innovative products that Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has to offer and allows them to explore new options and techniques through media and interactive hands-on displays. Design engineers and sales experts local to each country will also offer on-the-spot consultation, answering questions and providing specialised technical training sessions for applications.
Sharing good practice
David Brown, managing director of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions marketing company in the UK, said: “We are taking our knowledge and expertise on the road to share good practice in sealing technology. Our experts will be providing displays and presentations designed to give visitors an overview of how working with us can accelerate their business and add value to their products and processes.”
The knowledge, expertise and presentations will be delivered from the Roadshow Cube, a sophisticated trailer offering 37m2 of space. There will be a presentation of highlight areas and displays, including innovations (material and process competences), hand-in-hand engineering examples, Service PLUS (logistics, packaging and assembly services) and product range and industry-specific solutions. Other topics covered range from manufacturing capabilities and digital services for application engineers (apps, virtual reality) to customised training sessions.
The roadshow will be visiting Germany from18 to 22 June, Poland between 25 and 29 June before heading back to Germany 2 to 13 July and going onto Turkey on 24 July. The roadshow will also visit Denmark, the Czech Republic, the UK and Bulgaria.

Thorite Carbon Trust Accreditation

Thorite has been awarded Carbon Trust Accredited Supplier status. The company, through its accreditation, is now able to help customers through the Green Business Fund. The Green Business Fund is a Carbon Trust initiative which, for successful applicants, includes a 15% financial contribution towards the cost of energy saving equipment up to a total of £5000. The contribution is available to small and medium sized businesses with less than two hundred and fifty employees, for projects that comply with the requirements of the fund.

Fluid Power & Systems and Air-Tech 2018 took place at the NEC, Birmingham from 10 to 12 April. The shows – co-located with Drives and Controls and Plant & Asset Management, together with a brand-new show Smart Industry Expo – proved to be organiser DFA Media’s most well-attended event to date, with an official attendance figure of 13,518, which represented a small increase on the 2016 shows of 3%.
